Makorra Soul Biding Part 2

Previously....


"He's dead,"

No, impossible, she wouldn't believe it, she went to his face.

"Mako?! Mako, Please wake up, MAKO!!" she kissed his lips, she came up tears hitting his pale face,

"Mako," she sobbed, "Wake up! PLEASE! DON'T LEAVE ME!!" she sobbed laying her head on his motionless chest, Bolin put her in an embrace, she held onto him for dear life,

"Bolin, he can't be gone, I- he can't," held onto her tightly, he gripped her and let his tears fall on her hair,

"It'll be ok, I'm sorry, I lost a brother, I know how you feel,"

"No Bolin, he can't leave me, I- I love him! He can't leave me! No, I have to fix this!" she ran out into the woods.

"Where are you going?!"  Bolin yelled to the running Korra, she ran out deep in the night hoping that the painful guilt in her chest would go away.

It only worsened.

How could the only man she ever loved die because of her foolishness?

She fell to her knees in despair, the pain over taking her body; she crossed her legs and entered the avatar state,

"Please, Avatar Aang I need you,"

He quickly appeared.

"Korra whatever is the-

"Mako! He's dead! I- I tried to save him but I couldn't heal him fast enough and know… and now he's dead!" she fell to her knees and cried, he hugged the troubled Avatar and hoped that she didn't take the option he was forced to  give her.

"There is a way," she looked up at him,

"How?" she said wanting to know.

"There is a thing that only the Avatar can do, it's called Soul Biding," she looked at him with confusion in her eyes.

"How do I do this Soul Biding?"

"The Avatar has the ability to give her gifted energy to another, in your case Mako will live, but…

"But what?"

"As for your life, the spirits can only decide," she thought about this.

Korra had her parents who were safely at home, but all Bolin had was Mako, who was now dead, giving her life would only result in a new Avatar, but the chances of here living were slim to none?

She couldn't think of a better deal.

"How do I do it?" she said without hesitation.
He sighed.

"When the time is right, you place your hands on his chest and press your finger down on his chest, your fingers will elite and as Mako comes back, you will fade, so it is important that you push for as long as you can."

"How will I know when the time is right?"

"You as the Avatar will just know,"
She nodded and bowed.

"Thank you Avatar Aang," he nodded and his spirit disappeared.
She ran to camp Bolin sitting in Mako's tent, the very sight of his lifeless body made her want to crawl in a hole and die.

"Korra, where-

"Move," she stated he switched sides with her.
She turned to Bolin, and put a hand on his shoulder.

"I want you to tell Mako that I love him, you tell him that I couldn't bare the sight of him the way he is now and that the new Avatar will come in three days," she hugged him and sighed, " I love you Bolin," he hugged her back,

"I love you too but what are you-

Avoiding to tell him what she was doing, she crossed her legs and took a breath in and relaxed, the only thoughts that came up in her mind were of Mako, the way he made her laugh, the way he kissed-yes the way he kissed her-her, the way he trained and how fine he looked with his shirt off in training, then she remembered today when he-Mako-pulled her in his tent and kissed her and how she didn't fight any of it.

Then she felt it, it was time.

She pressed her fingers against his chest and pressed she saw that her fingers started to glow.

She felt the energy in her loosen,

She was dying.

Her vision started to blur, but from the feel of her hands, she could the warmness in on her hands, he was coming back and she was leaving, a worthy choice,

She turned to Bolin and felt dizzy.
